Abstrak:Hukum islam yang komprehensif merupakam karakteristik yang membedakan dengan hukum-hukum lainnya. Ijma’ adalah sumber hukum ketiga dalam hukum islam yang dijadikan sebagai hujjah atau dalil oleh ulama muslim dengan pemikiran dan persepsi yang benar
tentang yurisprudensi realitas serta untuk kemaslahatan manusia disetiap masa.. Pada periode awal umat islam sepakat bahwa ijma’ sebagai hujjah atau dalil kemudaian terjadi perbedaan ulama setelah periode tersebut dan jumhur ulama berpendapat bahwa ijma’ adalah hujjah atau dalil sebagai sumber hukum islam ketiga setelah Al-Qu`an dan As-Sunnah. Ijma’ dibagi berbagai macam diantaranya ijma’ berdasar ahlinya ada dua yaitu umum dan khusus dan berdasarkan caranya ada dua qouli dan sukuti.
