Abstract


ABSTRACT

The design of the work "Cinematic Documentary Video on the Combination of Traditional and Contemporary Art at Borobudur Temple" aims to describe the harmony between the wealth of traditional art and contemporary expressions embodied in the symbolism of the Borobudur Temple. This research focuses on visual and narrative exploration to absorb the deep essence of Indonesian culture through the medium of documentary film. The research method involves visual analysis and literature on traditional and contemporary art, as well as data collection through surveys and interviews. In this design, we integrated elements of wayang art, carving, and traditional dance with modern cinematic language to produce an immersive and meaningful visual experience. The design results in the form of documentary videos present a harmonious blend of sustainable cultural values with innovative artistic expressions, inviting viewers to reflect on and appreciate Indonesia's cultural heritage in the context of modern times. In conclusion, the design of this work stimulates a deeper understanding of the importance of maintaining and respecting cultural heritage in the globalization era, by combining the beauty of traditional art with modern cinematic techniques.

ABSTRAK

Perancangan karya "Video Dokumenter Sinematik terhadap Perpaduan Kesenian Tradisional dan Kontemporer pada Candi Borobudur" bertujuan menggambarkan harmoni antara kekayaan seni tradisional dan ekspresi kontemporer yang terwujud dalam simbolisme Candi Borobudur. Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada eksplorasi visual dan naratif untuk meresapi esensi budaya Indonesia yang mendalam melalui medium film dokumenter. Metode penelitian melibatkan analisis visual dan literatur tentang seni tradisional dan kontemporer, serta pengumpulan data melalui survei dan wawancara. Dalam perancangan ini, kami mengintegrasikan unsur-unsur seni wayang, ukiran, dan tarian tradisional dengan bahasa sinematik modern untuk menghasilkan pengalaman visual yang mendalam dan bermakna. Hasil perancangan berupa video dokumenter menghadirkan perpaduan harmonis antara nilai-nilai budaya yang lestari dengan ekspresi seni yang inovatif, mengajak penonton untuk merenung dan menghargai warisan budaya Indonesia dalam konteks zaman modern. Kesimpulannya, perancangan karya ini merangsang pemahaman lebih mendalam tentang pentingnya mempertahankan dan menghormati warisan budaya dalam era globalisasi, melalui penggabungan keindahan seni tradisional dengan teknik sinematik yang modern.
