Abstract

Transformation is the transfer of the form of a literary work to a different medium. The transformation of literary works certainly results in differences in the plot, characters and other intrinsic elements conveyed according to the media used. "Balada Si Roy" by Gol A Gong is a youth novel filmed in January 2024 by IDN Pictures. The formulation of the research problem is the transformation of the novel and film "Balada Si Roy" and the changes that occur in the plot and characters. The research method is a qualitative research method. The aim of the research is to describe changes in the plot and characters in the novel and film "Balada si Roy". The research conclusion is a reduction in the plot, addition and removal of characters to suit the needs of the storyline, and adjustments to the message to suit the conditions of today's teenagers.
