Abstract

This study aims to explain and examine more deeply mental health in the film Sleepcall by Fajar Nugras. Many people underestimate mental problems, even though mental health is very important for us. The most common works containing mental problems are novels, which are then published as films. Many authors tell or describe mental problems that occur in everyday life. This research was conducted on the characters in the film. This research was conducted using descriptive quantitative methods, which analyzed film content focused on the main characters, dialogue, and the dynamics of relationships between characters with data sources from the film Sleepcall by Fajar Nugras and several relevant studies. The results of this research are that the main character is experiencing mental problems due to changing circumstances when he has to support his sick mother, so that the main character is determined to borrow large amounts of money from an illegal lending company. But he didn't think about the risks he had to bear, unfortunately he couldn't pay it because he couldn't afford it, so he was fired from his job because of terror from the loan company.
