This research aims to analyze the social critique of arranged marriage traditions depicted in the short story "The Man Bought by Father" by Efri Yeni. The study employs a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Sociological literary theory serves as the theoretical foundation for the analysis, particularly in linking the narrative elements of the short story to social portrayals and the continuity of traditions in Indonesian society. The research findings indicate that the short story contains social critiques concerning arranged marriage traditions that are no longer relevant in today's era.
