KESEHATAN MENTAL TOKOH DALAM FILM KEMBANG API KARYA HERWIN NOVIANTO

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the mental health issues experienced by the characters in the movie Kembang Api by Herwin Novianto. This paper uses a descriptive qualitative method. This writing focuses on analyzing literary psychology in the film using Sigmund Freud's psychological theories, such as id (delusion), ego (intermediary) and superego (conscience). Mental health disorder is a condition of a person's health that affects thoughts, feelings, behavior, moods or even a combination of them. Even though people are now more aware of mental health issues, there are still some people who take mental health cases for granted. There are many media that can be used to add and fulfill information about this mental health issue, one of the accesses that can be used to fulfill information as well as can be used as entertainment for the community is a movie. Film is one of the media that can be used to bring stories closer to the existing reality or even to shape the reality that is developing or growing in the wider community. The results of this writing and discussion show that in the film Kembang Api by Herwin Novianto there is a literary psychology that can be a reference material for the community to always be aware of this very dangerous mental health issue.
