Abstract

ABSTRAK

Perkembangan industri manufaktur dan logistik mendorong kebutuhan sistem pengemasan yang cepat, aman, dan efisien. Salah satu proses penting dalam distribusi barang adalah wrapping pada pallet menggunakan plastik stretch film untuk menjaga stabilitas produk selama penyimpanan maupun transportasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan membangun mesin wrapping barang pada palet berbasis Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Omron CP1E yang mampu bekerja secara otomatis. Metode penelitian meliputi perancangan mekanik, perancangan sistem kontrol berbasis PLC, pembuatan ladder diagram menggunakan CX-Programmer, perakitan hardware, serta pengujian setiap komponen dan sistem secara keseluruhan. Sistem terdiri atas PLC Omron CP1E sebagai pengendali utama, inverter sebagai pengatur kecepatan motor, motor induksi sebagai aktuator, push button, limit switch, buzzer, lampu indikator, dan power supply 24 VDC. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan seluruh komponen dapat bekerja sesuai rancangan. Sistem otomatis mampu menjalankan proses wrapping sebanyak tiga siklus naik-turun secara otomatis sebelum berhenti dan memberikan indikator bunyi menggunakan buzzer. Mesin juga mampu bekerja pada mode manual maupun otomatis dengan kecepatan motor sekitar 13,7 rpm menggunakan inverter. Penggunaan PLC menghasilkan sistem kontrol yang lebih sederhana, mudah dimodifikasi, mudah dipelihara, serta meningkatkan konsistensi proses pengemasan dibandingkan proses manual.

ABSTRACT

The development of the manufacturing and logistics industry is driving the need for fast, safe, and efficient packaging systems. One of the important processes in the distribution of goods is wrapping on pallets using plastic stretch film to maintain product stability during storage and transportation. This research aims to design and build a goods wrapping machine on pallets based on the Omron CP1E Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) which is capable of working automatically. The research methods include mechanical design, PLC-based control system design, ladder diagram making using CX-Programmer, hardware assembly, and testing of each component and system as a whole. The system consists of Omron CP1E PLC as the main controller, inverter as the motor speed regulator, induction motor as actuator, push button, limit switch, buzzer, indicator light, and 24 VDC power supply. The results of the study show that all components can work according to design. The automatic system is able to carry out the wrapping process as many as three cycles up and down automatically before stopping and providing a sound indicator using a buzzer. The engine is also able to work in manual and automatic mode with a motor speed of around 13.7 rpm using an inverter. The use of PLC results in a simpler control system, is easy to modify, easy to maintain, and improves the consistency of the packaging process compared to manual processes.
