Analisis Pengaruh Viskositas Pelumas terhadap Suhu Kerja Mesin Sepeda Motor Matic Menggunakan Honda Diagnostic Tool (HiDS)

Pemilihan viskositas pelumas yang tepat merupakan faktor krusial dalam menjaga stabilitas suhu operasional mesin sepeda motor matic. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi viskositas pelumas SAE 10W-30 dan SAE 10W-40 terhadap temperatur kerja mesin pada kondisi statis (idling). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu (quasi-experimental) dengan sampel sebanyak 30 unit sepeda motor matic Honda. Pengambilan data suhu mesin (Engine Coolant Temperature) dilakukan secara real-time menggunakan Honda Diagnostic Tool (HiDS) yang terhubung ke sistem ECU. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan pelumas SAE 10W-30 menghasilkan suhu rata-rata yang lebih rendah dibandingkan SAE 10W-40 dengan selisih mencapai 8,46°C. Hasil uji statistik Independent Sample T-Test mengonfirmasi adanya perbedaan yang signifikan dengan nilai p = 0,000 (p < 0,05). Kesimpulan utama dari penelitian ini adalah pelumas dengan viskositas lebih rendah memiliki kemampuan perpindahan panas konveksi yang lebih efektif dan gesekan internal fluida yang lebih kecil, sehingga lebih optimal dalam menjaga kestabilan suhu mesin pada kondisi operasional harian.
