PENGARUH VARIASI KETEBALAN ISOLASI MINERAL WOOL TERHADAP KEHILANGAN PANAS PADA PIPA UAP MENGGUNAKAN CFD

Pipa uap merupakan komponen penting dalam sistem distribusi energi termal di industri. Perbedaan temperatur antara uap di dalam pipa dan lingkungan menyebabkan terjadinya kehilangan panas (heat loss) yang dapat menurunkan efisiensi sistem. Salah satu upaya untuk mengurangi kehilangan panas adalah penggunaan isolasi termal, seperti mineral wool. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh variasi ketebalan isolasi mineral wool terhadap kehilangan panas pada pipa uap menggunakan Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) dengan perangkat lunak ANSYS Fluent. Variasi ketebalan isolasi yang digunakan adalah 50 mm, 75 mm, dan 100 mm. Simulasi dilakukan pada temperatur uap 423,15 K, temperatur lingkungan 308,15 K, dan koefisien perpindahan panas konveksi 10 W/m²K. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan ketebalan isolasi menyebabkan penurunan heat loss. Nilai heat loss yang diperoleh berturut-turut sebesar 342,43 W, 264,34 W, dan 223,35 W untuk ketebalan isolasi 50 mm, 75 mm, dan 100 mm. Ketebalan isolasi 100 mm mampu menurunkan kehilangan panas sebesar 34,77% dibandingkan ketebalan 50 mm, sehingga efektif dalam meningkatkan efisiensi termal sistem perpipaan uap. Uji independensi grid dilakukan untuk memverifikasi kualitas mesh, dan validasi terhadap solusi analitik menunjukkan kecenderungan penurunan heat loss yang konsisten seiring bertambahnya ketebalan isolasi.
