Author Guidelines

A.     GENERAL GUIDELINES

  1. Article must be research-based manuscript (either field research or literary study) in the field of communication studies.
  2. Manuscript has never been published or in the process of publishing in journal or any other publications.
  3. Manuscript is original, not a result of plagiarism, and has novelty.
  4. The length of manuscript ranges from 4000 to 6000 words, (including title, abstract, keywords, bibliography, images and tables).
  5. Manuscript is written in Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format (RTF) using:
    1. A4 paper (1 Column)
    2. Times New Roman, 12 pts
    3. 1.5 spaced
    4. Margin 3 cm
  6. Manuscripts can be sent by submitting in Jurnal JKFT homepage (http://jurnal.umt.ac.id/index.php/jkft/index)
  7. Author should read Authors Guidelines carefully before submit manuscripts.

B.     THE STRUCTURE OF RESEARCH-BASED MANUSCRIPT

 1.      TITLE

Title should be written specifically and effectively (8 - 14 words). Title must reflecting research main problem.

 2.      AUTHOR & INSTITUTION

Author’s name should be written in the full name without academic title, completed with institutional affiliation, address of institutional affiliation, and corresponding address (e-mail address). Example:

Abstract is written in English and Indonesian (bilingual), contains 100-150 word and followed by 3-5 keywords. Abstract should contain:

3)      Method

4)      Result

 

4.      INTRODUCTION

Introduction should contains

1)      Background

2)      Purpose of The Study

3)      State of Arts

In this section, researchers can also explain supporting theories that are used in research by using subtitles

Citation using bodynotes; authors are not permitted to use footnotes. Citations refer to the American Psychological Association Sixth Edition (APA6th). It is recommended to use a reference manager such as Zotero or Mendeley.


5.      METHOD

This part contains a description on the research design. Method should contain:

1)      Research Design

2)      Data Source

3)      Data Collecting Technique

4)      Data Analysis Technique


6.      RESEARCH FINDING & DISCUSSIONS

This part contains the findings of research and should be written systematically. The data or information that presented only related to the purpose of research. Author can use subheads in this section as long as necessary. Author also should avoid the use of footnotes. Number and the title of the table must be place on the top-centre of the table, with the information of source (if any) on the left-below the table. Every table should be made without horizontal line. Number and title of the picture must be on the center-below the picture.

7.      CONCLUSION

This section contains conclusions from the overall results of the study. This section is written without subtitles, numeric format or alphabetically (bullets and numbering).

 

8.      SUGGESTION

This section contains practical or theoretic advice related to the results of research. This section is written without subtitles, numeric format or alphabetically (bullets and numbering).

 

9.      REFERENCES

The literature included in this section only contains the literature referred to or quoted in the Manuscript. Reference writing techniques refer to the American Psychological Association Sixth Edition (APA6th).

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
