Abstrak

Muhammadiyah organisasi paling tua di Indonesia, sejak awal berdirinya pada 18 November 1912 bertepatan 8 Dulhijjah 1330 H Muhammadiyah senantiasa mengajak masyrakat Indonesia untuk berpikir keras melepaskan kejumudan yang selama ini membelenggu alam pikirannya. Sehingga kehidupan masyrakat Indonesia hidup di bawah garis kemiskinan, kebodohan, dan berbagai jenis keterbelakangan. Muhammadiyah hadir memberikan pencerahan kepada umat Islam dalam menghadapi berbagai persoalan yang dialaminya, dengan memberikan pemahaman yang autentik dan utuh terhadap nilai-nilai ajaran Islam. Tentu hal ini diterapkan melalui peran strategis Muhammadiyah dalam mengagas lembaga Pendidikan yang dikelolanya.
