PERANCANGAN BUKU ILUSTRASI PROMOSI CALON SISWA SEKOLAH ST. ANTONIUS DARI PADUA DI KAWASAN BSD
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang buku ilustrasi sebagai media promosi untuk meningkatkan ketertarikan calon siswa Sekolah St. Antonius dari Padua di kawasan BSD. Masalah yang diidentifikasi adalah minimnya media promosi visual yang menarik, kurangnya narasi emosional untuk anak-anak, dan desain yang kurang sesuai dengan preferensi audiens. Pendekatan Design Thinking digunakan dengan tahapan Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, dan Test. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan lima orang tua dan lima siswa TK-SD serta observasi media
promosi kompetitor. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa buku ilustrasi bergaya semi-kartun dengan narasi ramah anak efektif meningkatkan ketertarikan. Buku ini terdiri dari 24 halaman termasuk cover, ukuran 15x15 cm, hardcover laminating doff, isi layflat laminating doff, dan e-book. Media pendukung meliputi pin, kaos, pamflet, x banner, poster, gantungan kunci, stiker, mug, dan totebag.
Pengujian kuesioner menunjukkan kepuasan rata-rata 4,35 dari 5. Kesimpulannya, media promosi visual yang dirancang dengan narasi emosional dan estetika menarik efektif meningkatkan daya tarik sekolah.

This research aims to design an illustrated book as a promotional medium to enhance the interest of prospective students at St. Antonius School from Padua in the BSD area. Identified problems include the lack of engaging visual promotional media, insufficient emotional narrative for children, and designs misaligned with audience preferences. The Design Thinking approach was employed, consisting of Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test stages. Data were collected through interviews with five parents and five TK-SD students, alongside observations of competitor
promotional media. Results indicate that a semi-cartoon illustrated book with a child-friendly narrative significantly boosts interest. The book comprises 24 pages including the cover, sized 15x15 cm, with a hard cover laminated in matte, layflat matte lamination for the interior, and an e-book.
Supporting media include pins, t-shirts, pamphlets, x banners, posters, keychains, stickers, mugs, and tote bags. Questionnaire testing revealed an average satisfaction score of 4.35 out of 5. In conclusion, well-designed visual promotional media with emotional narratives and appealing aesthetics effectively enhance the school’s appeal.
