Abstract

This research explores gender injustice in literature, especially in Pramoedya Ananta Toer's "Stories from Blora". In this collection of stories, Pramoedya describes various forms of injustice experienced by women such as marginalization and subordination. The marginalization of women is reflected in characters such as Sri and Diah, who have to abandon their education to support their families, influenced by social norms that limit their aspirations. This shows that women often do not have the same freedom as men to pursue their life goals. In addition, the subordination of women is reflected in characters such as Inem, who is married off without considering her own wishes, highlighting the view that women are often seen as objects who must obey the wishes of others. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach by analyzing data from literature using theories of gender and feminism. The results of the analysis show how gender injustice is reflected in real life and literature as a reflection of society at that time. In conclusion, this research illustrates how Pramoedya Ananta Toer presents gender injustice in his work, relevant to be studied in the current social and cultural context.
