MENGENAL SYNDROME BABY BLUES PADA TOKOH UTAMA DALAM FILM “BABY BLUES” YANG DISUTRADARAI OLEH ANDI BACHTIAR YUSUF

Abstract

In this modern era, many movies discuss gender equality and patriarchal culture. This often happens in society, especially Indonesian society. In the context of gender equality, it is important to realize that patriarchy can be an obstacle in achieving equality. Patriarchy also creates differences and injustices between men and women in many areas of life, such as education, employment, family life, and political participation. But gender equality is more than just abolishing patriarchy. It involves recognizing and valuing individual differences and ensuring everyone has equal access to opportunities and resources. Gender equality promotes inclusion, fairness and respect for all gender identities. This research aims to reveal how gender roles are depicted in the film Baby Blues by using a descriptive type of qualitative analysis method and a Literary Psychology approach. The results of this study are based on old and new views of gender roles, including gender stereotypes. In traditional roles, men play a role in the public sector and women play a role in the domestic sector. In contrast, the new interpretation tries to overcome this situation by showing that men are beginning to be domesticated with the reversal of their previous roles.
