MENYIAPKAN MAHASISWA ABAD 21 MENGHADAPI ERA VUCA (VOLATILITY, UNCERTAINTY, COMPELXITY, & AMBIGUITY) MELALUI PENDEKATAN BERBASIS PENGALAMAN
Abstract
Tantangan dalam dunia pendidikan kini semakin kompleks dan cepat berkembang, tak terkecuali pada perguruan tinggi di Indonesia. Perguruan tinggi dituntut dapat melatih mahasiswanya untuk mampu menangani masalah dan sistem yang kompleks baik dalam lingkungan ilmiah maupun dunia kerja. Perguruan tinggi di Indonesia harus dapat menghasilkan lulusan yang serba bisa dan sanggup beradaptasi dengan apa yang saat ini disebut sebagai Era VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Compelxity, dan Ambiguity) yang mempunyai karakteristik bergejolak, tidak pasti, kompleks dan ambigu. Menyadari tantangan dan kebutuhan untuk menyiapkan mahasiswanya dengan keterampilan kerja masa depan, universitas seyogyanya memulai perjalanan pembelajaran transformasional yang bertujuan untuk menanamkan inovasi dalam kurikulumnya dengan meluncurkan program yang mengadopsi pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman. Terdapat empat gagasan dasar yang bisa diadopsi dari konsep pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman ini yaitu: 1) pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang ditekankan pada penyelesaian masalah dan isu terkini pada dunia nyata; (2) interdisipliner dalam kurikulum dan desain pembelajaran; (3) kerja sama yang erat antara perguruan tinggi dan mitra eksternal; dan (4) pendampingan aktif mahasiswa oleh universitas dan mitra eksternal. Temuan penulis menunjukkan empat gagasan dasar yang bisa diadopsi dari konsep pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman menghasilkan manfaat serta dapat mengembangkan kompetensi mahasiswa yang dibutuhkan dalam menghadapi lingkungan kerja di Era VUCA.
