Focus and Scope

Teras Psynesia: Indonesian Journal of Islamic Psychology and Research focuses on advancing knowledge and critical discourse in the field of Islamic Psychology within both local and global contexts. The journal provides a scholarly platform for researchers, academics, practitioners, and students to publish high-quality research articles, conceptual papers, and critical reviews.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  • Theoretical Foundations of Islamic Psychology: Development of theories, concepts, and models grounded in Islamic epistemology and worldview.

  • Mental Health and Well-Being: Empirical and conceptual studies on mental health, resilience, coping strategies, and psychological interventions in Muslim societies.

  • Spirituality and Religious Practices: The role of spirituality, faith, and religious rituals in shaping psychological processes and human behavior.

  • Educational Psychology and Learning: Integration of Islamic perspectives in teaching, learning, character education, and personal development.

  • Cultural and Social Psychology: Cross-cultural studies, social interactions, identity, and the impact of socio-religious dynamics on psychological functioning.

  • Applied Islamic Psychology: Clinical practice, counseling, psychotherapy, and community-based interventions that combine psychological science with Islamic values.

  • Contemporary Issues: Critical discussions on modern challenges such as digital behavior, family dynamics, radicalism, globalization, and ethical concerns in psychology from an Islamic perspective.

The journal prioritizes research-based manuscripts, encourages interdisciplinary approaches, and welcomes contributions from both Indonesian and international scholars. All submissions must demonstrate originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the advancement of Islamic Psychology as a global discipline.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Teras Psynesia: Indonesian Journal of Islamic Psychology and Research will first undergo an initial editorial screening to ensure compliance with the journal’s focus, scope, and submission guidelines. Manuscripts that meet the basic requirements will then be forwarded to qualified peer reviewers through a Double-Blind Peer Review Process, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.

Each manuscript will be evaluated from both substantive (originality, significance, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, clarity of results, and relevance to Islamic Psychology) and technical aspects (clarity of writing, structure, adherence to APA style, and formatting). Peer reviewers are experts in psychology, Islamic psychology, or related disciplines with proven scholarly competence.

Following the review, authors may be required to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewers’ comments and recommendations. The entire review and revision process is designed to be completed within a maximum of 12 weeks from initial submission to final editorial decision.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Withdrawal of Manuscripts

Authors are strongly discouraged from withdrawing manuscripts once they have been submitted to Teras Psynesia: Indonesian Journal of Islamic Psychology and Research, as withdrawal wastes valuable resources invested by editors, reviewers, and the publisher. The editorial and review process requires significant time, effort, and cost to ensure academic quality.

If an author still insists on withdrawing a manuscript while it is under peer review, a penalty fee of IDR 1,000,000 (one million rupiah) per manuscript must be paid to the publisher. It is considered unethical to withdraw a manuscript under review if it is simultaneously submitted to or accepted by another journal.

If a manuscript is withdrawn after being accepted for publication, the author will be required to pay a withdrawal penalty of IDR 1,500,000 (one million five hundred thousand rupiah) per manuscript. Withdrawal will only be processed after the penalty has been fully paid to the publisher.

Plagiarism Check

All manuscripts submitted to Teras Psynesia: Indonesian Journal of Islamic Psychology and Research will be screened for plagiarism prior to the review process. The journal uses Turnitin and Google-based search engines to detect potential plagiarism or similarity with previously published works.

The decision to proceed with the peer-review process depends heavily on the originality of the manuscript and the similarity index. Manuscripts with high similarity (whether self-plagiarism or duplication from other sources) will be returned to the author for revision or directly rejected, depending on the severity.

Authors are strongly encouraged to ensure that their manuscripts maintain a similarity index below 20% (excluding references and bibliography) before submission.

Teras Psynesia: Indonesian Journal of Islamic Psychology and Research is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). This license permits anyone to copy, distribute, remix, and build upon the work for any purpose, even commercially, provided that proper credit is given to the original author(s) and derivative works are distributed under the same license.
