Peer Reviewers Process
Globish: An English-Indonesian Journal of English Education and Culture is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal. Every manuscript submitted to Globish: An English-Indonesian Journal of English Education and Culture is subject to a rigorous peer-review process. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two reviewers who possess expertise relevant to the submitted work. The purpose of the review process is to assess the originality, quality, significance, and suitability of the manuscript for publication.
The peer-review system is designed to maintain the journal's academic standards and ensure the publication of high-quality scholarly articles. The peer-review process at Globish: An English-Indonesian Journal of English Education and Culture consists of the following nine steps:
1. Submission of Manuscript
The corresponding author submits the manuscript through the journal's Open Journal System (OJS). All submissions must comply with the journal's submission requirements and formatting guidelines.
2. Editorial Office Assessment
The editorial office conducts an initial screening to ensure that the manuscript fits the aims and scope of Globish: An English-Indonesian Journal of English Education and Culture. The manuscript is also checked for completeness, formatting, language quality, and compliance with the Author Guidelines. Before proceeding to peer review, every manuscript undergoes a plagiarism screening using Turnitin to ensure academic integrity.
3. Editor-in-Chief Evaluation
The Editor-in-Chief evaluates whether the manuscript is sufficiently original, academically significant, methodologically sound, and relevant to the journal. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's standards may be rejected without external review.
4. Reviewer Assignment
The handling editor assigns the manuscript to at least two qualified reviewers based on their expertise and research interests while ensuring that no conflict of interest exists. Globish applies a double-blind peer-review system, in which neither the reviewers nor the authors know each other's identities.
5. Reviewer Response
Invited reviewers evaluate the invitation according to their expertise, availability, and potential conflicts of interest. They may accept or decline the review request. If necessary, reviewers may recommend alternative experts.
6. Peer Review Process
The reviewers critically evaluate the manuscript by considering its originality, methodology, theoretical contribution, literature review, analysis, discussion, conclusions, and references. They provide constructive comments and recommend one of the following decisions:

7. Editorial Decision
The Editor-in-Chief and handling editor review all reviewer reports before making the editorial decision. If reviewer recommendations differ substantially, an additional reviewer may be appointed to provide another independent assessment.
8. Decision Notification
The corresponding author receives the editorial decision together with anonymous reviewer comments and suggestions. Authors are expected to revise the manuscript according to the reviewers' recommendations and submit a revised version within the specified deadline.
9. Final Decision and Publication
After the revised manuscript is received, the editor—and when necessary, the reviewers—will evaluate whether the revisions adequately address the comments. Once the manuscript satisfies all academic and editorial requirements, it is accepted for publication.
Accepted articles proceed through copyediting, layout editing, proofreading, and final production before being published online in Globish: An English-Indonesian Journal of English Education and Culture. All published articles are freely accessible through the journal website under the journal's open-access policy.
