Author Guidelines & Policies
Thank you for choosing NYIMAK: Journal of Communication as the venue for your scholarly work. To ensure a smooth peer review and publication process, all submitting authors must strictly adhere to our editorial policies, ethical standards, and formatting requirements. We accept original, high-quality empirical and theoretical papers in communication studies.
1. Core Publication Ethics & AI Policy
In alignment with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) standards, NYIMAK enforces strict policies regarding manuscript integrity:
Plagiarism Prevention & Originality
Submitted manuscripts must be original, have not been published elsewhere, and are not currently under consideration by another journal. NYIMAK thoroughly screens all submissions using Turnitin. The maximum acceptable similarity threshold is 20% (excluding bibliography). Submissions exceeding this limit will be automatically desk-rejected.
Generative AI Policy for Authors
Authors may use Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) only to improve the readability, language, and grammar of their manuscript. AI tools cannot be listed as a co-author. If AI is used in any capacity during the research or writing process, authors must explicitly declare this usage in the Acknowledgment section, describing which tool was used and for what purpose.
2. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Prior to submission, authors must ensure their manuscript strictly conforms to the journal's structural and formatting template:

3. Step-by-Step Submission Process
Submission is managed entirely online through our OJS dashboard. Authors should prepare three separate files to guarantee a flawless double-blind peer review:
- 1. Title Page (Non-Blinded): Includes the manuscript title, all author names, affiliations, email addresses, ORCID IDs, and the acknowledgment section (including AI disclosure if applicable).
- 2. Main Manuscript (Blinded): The complete research paper without any identifying information (no author names, affiliations, or self-citations that reveal identity).
- 3. Ethical Clearance/Declaration Form: Confirming that the study meets all ethical guidelines regarding human participants (especially in communication and media research surveys).
