Digital Archiving & Preservation Policy

To ensure the permanent accessibility, long-term preservation, and absolute integrity of scholarly communication, NYIMAK: Journal of Communication employs a multi-layered digital preservation strategy. We guarantee that all published articles are robustly archived and will remain fully accessible to the global research community even in the event of an unforeseen system failure or journal cessation.

LOCKSS System Integration

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to create a distributed archiving ecosystem among participating libraries, allowing them to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.

CLOCKSS Preservation

Our editorial metadata and full-text PDFs are securely ingested into the CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) archive, ensuring a permanent, decentralized repository across worldwide node libraries.

Institutional & National Archiving Partnerships

  • National Repository (GARUDA): All published editions are systematically indexed and digitally preserved in the national repository platform, GARUDA (Garba Rujukan Digital), managed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.
  • Self-Archiving Policy (Green Open Access): Authors are permitted and highly encouraged to deposit the published version (Publisher's PDF) of their work in institutional repositories (e.g., UMT Repository) or public subject repositories immediately upon publication.
Persistent Identifiers: Every single article published in NYIMAK is assigned a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registered via Crossref, ensuring that citation networks and web links remain unbreakable and resolvable over time.
