Focus and Scope

Nyimak: Journal of Communication is an international, peer-reviewed academic journal published twice a year (March and September). The journal welcomes original articles, including research-based papers and theoretical perspectives, which undergo rigorous review by internal and external editors. All accepted papers are subject to a Double-Blind Peer Review process. Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License, ensuring open access and wide dissemination of research findings.

Nyimak: Journal of Communication is dedicated to exploring contemporary global issues in the fields of fundamental studies and applied communication. The journal emphasizes the transformation, technology, and innovation in communication, with a particular focus on Political Communication and Cross-Cultural Communication in the context of contemporary global challenges. It explores how these areas intersect with other fields such as Public Relations, Advertising, and Broadcasting, to understand political discourse, media representation, and intercultural dialogue in multicultural societies.

The journal invites contributions that adopt interdisciplinary approaches to communication studies, integrating perspectives from political science, media studies, sociology, and anthropology. Papers should focus on both local and global issues, addressing how communication can serve as a viable solution to political, social, and cultural challenges in diverse contexts.

Peer Review Process

Each article entered in the Nyimak journal will be sent to the editor's section through the Initial Review process. After that, the articles will be sent to peer reviewers to get the Double-Blind Peer Review Process. Then, the article will be returned to the author for revision. This process takes maximum 12 weeks. In each text, peer reviewers will be assessed from a substantial and technical aspect. Peer reviews have expertise in media texts and analysis in accordance with the scientific field.

 

Publication Frequency

Nyimak: Journal of Communication is published twice a year, in March (Issue 1) and September (Issue 2). More specifically, the process of publication schedule of Nyimak: Journal of Communication as follows:

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All articles published Open Access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download. 

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Witdrawal of Manuscripts

Author is not allowed to withdraw submitted manuscripts, because the withdrawal is waste of valuable resources that editors and referees spent a great deal of time processing submitted manuscript, money and works invested by the publisher. If author still requests withdrawal of his/her manuscript when the manuscript is still in the peer-reviewing process, author will be punished with paying IDR. 1.000.000,- per manuscript, as withdrawal penalty to the publisher. However, it is unethical to withdraw a submitted manuscript from one journal if accepted by another journal. The withdrawal of manuscript after the manuscript is accepted for publication, author will be punished by paying  IDR. 1.500.000,- per manuscript. Withdrawal of manuscript is only allowed after withdrawal penalty has been fully paid to the Publisher.

 

Plagiarism Check

Articles submitted to the Nyimak: Journal of Communication will be filtered first to avoid plagiarism using software Turnitin and Google-based search engines. The decision on the manuscript for the next process depends very much on the level of originality and the level of similarity of the articles received with other previously published articles.
