NYIMAK prioritizes rigorous empirical research articles, though high-quality conceptual reviews on urgent global communication issues are also welcomed.
Our scope includes, but is not limited to:
- Digital Media & Critical Technology Culture: Social media dynamics, platform governance, digital inequalities, and human-computer interaction.
- Strategic Communication & Public Relations: Corporate diplomacy, crisis management, image construction, and public interest communication.
- Political Communication & Journalism: Media freedom, political campaigning, misinformation/disinformation frameworks, and investigative journalism.
- Intercultural & Global Communication: Post-colonial communication, migration discourse, cross-cultural conflicts, and global media flows.
Rigorous Peer Review Process
To maintain the highest scholarly integrity, NYIMAK employs a strict Double-Blind Peer Review workflow. All submitted manuscripts undergo a meticulous Initial Review (Desk Evaluation) by the internal editorial board to check scope fit, formatting, and language quality. Manuscripts that pass this stage are forwarded to at least two independent external peer reviewers. The journal strictly adheres to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) principles to prevent any form of plagiarism or academic misconduct.
Critical Pre-Submission Requirements
Starting from Volume 8 Issue 1 (2024), NYIMAK enforces strict international submission standards. Authors must carefully ensure the following prior to submission:
- Language Proficiency: All manuscripts must be written in high-quality academic English. Authors are required to perform professional proofreading and attach a Proofreading Certificate as a supplementary file during submission.

Nyimak: Journal of Communication is a peer-reviewed international journal dedicated to examining the transformative role of communication in shaping contemporary global and multicultural societies. The journal provides a high-level forum for research that bridges Communication Theory with Digital Innovation and Social Impact.
We prioritize interdisciplinary manuscripts that offer significant theoretical advancements or innovative practical solutions within four primary pillars:
- Digital Transformation & Media Dynamics: Research on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in communication, social media algorithms, big data ethics, and the evolution of digital journalism.
- Political Communication & Public Legitimacy: Critical analysis of political discourse, digital activism, and the formation of public legitimacy in democratic and developing nations.
- Strategic & Intercultural Communication: Exploring media representation, crisis communication, and intercultural dialogue within diverse global contexts.
- Communication & Social Impact: Examining the intersection of communication with Global Health, Environmental Sustainability, and Regional Governance/Autonomy.
Global Mandate & Scientific Rigor: Nyimak invites contributions from academics worldwide. To meet our international standards, all submissions must demonstrate broader theoretical or practical implications that resonate beyond a single local context. While we welcome studies based on local or national data, the authors must discuss how their findings contribute to the global academic discourse. Purely descriptive studies of local events without a comparative or global framework will be discouraged.

After that, the articles will be sent to peer reviewers to get the Double-Blind Peer Review Process. Then, the article will be returned to the author for revision.
