APC Discounts and Waiver Policy

NYIMAK is committed to supporting open-access dissemination while maintaining rigorous editorial independence based on COPE guidelines. To ensure equity, a limited number of APC waivers and discounts are available per annual volume under strict qualification pathways:

Eligibility Pathways & Strict Criteria:

  • Country-Based Waivers: Full waivers are exclusively available for corresponding authors officially affiliated with institutions located in officially classified Low-Income Economies (as defined by the World Bank). Authors residing in Lower-Middle, Upper-Middle (including Indonesia), or High-Income countries are expected to cover publication fees through their institutional support, research grants, or personal funds.
  • Unfunded Independent Researchers: Partial discounts may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis for independent scholars without institutional affiliations or grant backing, subject to rigorous document verification.
  • Reviewer Vouchers: Peer reviewers who complete comprehensive, high-quality reviews within the requested deadline may receive credit vouchers redeemable toward future submissions.
  • Invited Keynote Contributions: Manuscripts specifically commissioned by the Editor-in-Chief for thematic special issues may be granted an editorial waiver.

*Mandatory Procedure: All waiver or discount requests must be formally submitted during initial manuscript submission along with official supporting documentation. Requests submitted after peer review or final acceptance will be automatically declined. Waiver decisions are final and managed independently from the peer-review process.

Manuscript Withdrawal Policy & Administrative Fee

Withdrawing a manuscript after it has entered the peer-review process causes a significant expenditure of academic effort and editorial resources. Unethical withdrawals (e.g., withdrawing after receiving peer-review reports to submit elsewhere) are strictly discouraged.

If an author requests a withdrawal after the manuscript has been assigned to reviewers or formally accepted, an Administrative Processing Fee of Rp 1.000.000,- will be assessed to cover review overhead. Formal withdrawal letters will only be issued upon settlement of this fee.
