1. Review Policy & Initial Screening

Tadarus Tarbawy: Jurnal Kajian Islam dan Pendidikan applies a double-blind peer review process. The identities of both authors and reviewers are kept strictly confidential throughout the entire review process.

Each submitted manuscript is first screened by the editorial team to evaluate:

  • Relevance to the journal’s focus and scope.
  • Compliance with author guidelines and structural layout.
  • Similarity index (plagiarism screening).
  • Clarity of language, academic quality, and basic ethical requirements.

All reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and evidence-based evaluations.

2. Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are committed to upholding the following standards:

  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of manuscripts under review.
  • Provide objective, constructive, unbiased, and evidence-based comments.
  • Avoid using unpublished materials, data, or arguments for personal or professional advantage.
  • Promptly decline review invitations when a potential conflict of interest arises.

*Note: Reviewers must decline the assignment if they have any competing financial, institutional, collaborative, or personal relationships with the authors or the reported research.

3. Editorial Decisions & Revisions

Based on the reviewers' evaluations, the editorial board categorizes manuscript recommendations into one of the following decisions:

✓ Accepted ✓ Accepted with minor revisions ⚠ Accepted with major revisions ↻ Resubmitted for review ✕ Rejected

The final decision is issued by the Editor-in-Chief or the assigned handling editor, taking into account peer reviewers' assessments, the revision quality, and the journal's publication standards. The editorial board retains full authority to reject any submission that does not meet scholarly rigor, originality, or publication ethics.

Authors are required to address reviewers' feedback thoroughly and submit the revised version alongside a point-by-point response letter within the timeframe stipulated by the editor. Revised manuscripts may be returned to original reviewers for further evaluation when deemed necessary.

⏱ Review Timeline

The typical review and editorial decision cycle takes approximately four to six weeks from initial submission. The turnaround duration may vary depending on reviewer availability, speed of author revisions, and editorial processing queues.
