Tadarus Tarbawy: Jurnal Kajian Islam dan Pendidikan • Postgraduate Program, Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang

1. Policy Overview & Definition

Tadarus Tarbawy: Jurnal Kajian Islam dan Pendidikan enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy against academic plagiarism in all its forms. Plagiarism is an unethical and unacceptable publishing practice defined as the appropriation, uncredited reproduction, or misattribution of another person's ideas, concepts, empirical findings, texts, illustrations, or methodologies without explicit, appropriate scholarly credit.

Authors submitting manuscripts must warrant that their submission represents an entirely original contribution and that all intellectual borrowings, paraphrases, and citations have been rigorously and accurately credited.

2. Categorization of Prohibited Plagiarism

Manuscripts exhibiting any of the following practices will be rejected immediately:

• Full / Verbatim Plagiarism

Presenting substantial portions or entire text, arguments, or structures previously published by another scholar without citation, quotation marks, or proper attribution.

• Partial / Patchwork Plagiarism

Synthesizing phrases, ideas, or data from multiple secondary sources with superficial rewording or without direct in-text attribution to the primary sources.

• Self-Plagiarism & Redundant Publication

Reusing large sections of the author’s own previously published work, dissertations, proceedings, or books without cross-referencing and explicit citation. Submitting essentially the same research to more than one publication channel concurrently is strictly forbidden.

3. Plagiarism Screening & Similarity Threshold

Every submitted manuscript undergoes mandatory initial plagiarism screening using Turnitin before proceeding to the editorial review or peer-review stage.

⚠ Maximum Similarity Threshold: 20%

Manuscripts must demonstrate an overall similarity index of no more than 20%. Any submission exceeding 20% overall similarity, or displaying concentrated clusters of unoriginal text even if below the threshold, will be rejected immediately or returned to the authors without external peer review.

Authors are required to upload a full Turnitin similarity report (PDF) upon initial manuscript submission. The editorial office conducts independent verification to validate the distribution and integrity of similarity matches.

4. Reference Management & Citation Integrity

To prevent unintentional omission of sources and maintain rigorous scholarly standards:
