Digital Archiving & Preservation Policy
The Journal of Government and Civil Society (JGCS) maintains rigorous digital archiving policies to guarantee the continuous access, integrity, and long-term preservation of its published research
Commitment to Long-Term Content Availability
JGCS recognizes the critical importance of digital preservation in safeguarding scientific knowledge. In the event that the journal ceases publication or experiences server disruption, all published articles will remain permanently accessible to researchers, authors, and indexers worldwide through decentralized archiving systems and national repositories.
Archiving Framework & Infrastructure
1. LOCKSS & CLOCKSS Archiving
JGCS utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) systems provided through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) Public Knowledge Project (PKP) Preservation Network.
These networks allow participating libraries to create distributed archiving systems to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes.
2. Crossref DOI Permanent Links
Every article accepted and published in JGCS is assigned a unique, persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registered through Crossref (Prefix: 10.31506/jgs). DOIs ensure that publication metadata and full-text links remain accurate and resolvable even if primary web servers or domain configurations change over time.
3. Garuda & National Archiving Integration
In compliance with SINTA accreditation guidelines, all published volumes are continuously harvested and preserved in GARUDA (Garba Rujukan Digital), managed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, ensuring long-term national accessibility.
