Post-Publication Discussion and Correction
Post-Publication Discussion and Correction Policy
Commitment to a Transparent & Self-Correcting Record
The Journal of Government and Civil Society (JGCS) is fully committed to ensuring that the scholarly record remains transparent, self-correcting, and accurate. Guided largely by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) framework, JGCS provides structured mechanisms for post-publication discourse, scholarly critiques, data corrections, and formal retractions when empirical validity or ethical standards are compromised.
Post-Publication Correction Types & Protocols
When unintentional errors or omissions by authors (Corrigendum) or production teams (Erratum) affect the integrity of the published text, data tables, or citations, without invalidating the core scientific findings, JGCS will publish a formal correction notice linked directly to the original article, preserving a permanent audit trail.
JGCS welcomes constructive academic discourse and critical responses concerning published papers in public governance and civil society studies. Accepted discussion notes or letters to the editor are shared with original authors to provide a formal right of reply before simultaneous online publication.
Editorial Board Authority & Submission Channel
All post-publication critique submissions, correction requests, or notification of ethical concerns must be directed formally to the Editorial Office via email at [email protected]. The Editorial Board evaluates all reports impartially in consultation with institutional authorities and reviewers before enacting any adjustments to the published scholarly record.
